Security forces
are planning to storm the Giza town of al-Saff, the final stage in an
operation to root out suspected Islamist criminals in Kerdasa, an
Interior Ministry source said on Thursday.
The
source, speaking on condition of anonymity, did not set a time for the
start of the latest operation but confirmed it would end the Kerdasa
raid, which started on 19 September.
Authorities originally said the Kerdasa campaign would continue for several days without setting a specific timeframe.
The source added that troops were able to arrest dozens more criminals involved in violence in the Giza town.
According to the source, the operation will be launched in
al-Saff because many Muslim Brotherhood fugitives are hiding out there.
